Makeup Masterclass

The very first Suffolk Brides Social was a huge success. Brides to be, bridesmaids and friends attended the very first social at Lavender & Jude, Southwold on the evening of the 20th of September. The purpose was and is to provide a warm, relaxed enviroment where brides to be and their chosen party can meet other women on the same journey, learn and most importantly chat.

The very first social was with Hayley Clarke Mua, a former ambassador for Charlotte Tilbury and now a hugely successful bridal Mua in her own right. Hayley talked us through a routine that not only perfects the skin but also promotes a fresh glowing bridal look beautifully modelled by the lovely Holly Hambling, another successful female business woman in her chosen field of photography. Using gorgeous products from Charlotte Tilbury, Bobbi Brown, Nudestix and Hourglass.

The masterclass lasted for about an hour and was followed by a really informative q&a with Hayley and Holly both providing some excellant tips. Happily lots of questions were asked and a few attendants were able to have their foundation matched by Hayley. The whole evening ended with each attendant receiving a fabulous goody bag with Charlotte Tilbury goodies to take home and a couple of disconut codes for purchases from Look Fantastic and Charlotte Tilbury.

A massive thank you to everybody who attended. I don’t think I stopped smiling the whole evening. The next Social is on its way!

The first Suffolk Brides Social

Fully aware of starting each blog post with “How exciting everything is !” but it really truly is at the moment.

I have now confirmed and am super happy to share with you that my very first Suffolk Brides Social event will take place on the 20th of September in the new Lavender & Jude Southwold store.

Fabulous luxury Mua Hayley Clarke will be taking a masterclass showing brides-to-be how she acheives her signature glowing bridal look. Using top makeup brands such as Charlotte Tilbury, Nars, BobbiBrown & Nudestix, Hayley will demonstrate how each step perfects the natural glowing bridal look.

I wanted this to be the first event as a lot of my brides have shared with me that bridal makeup makes them feel quite anxious and that paying to have your make-up done means sacrificing the natural you. Having worked with Hayley in the past I know she is the right person to allay those fears and to learn some incredibly valuable tips not just for your bridal makeup but also for your day to day look.

The plan for the evening is to open the doors of Lavender & Jude at 6pm, you’ll be welcomed and given a choice of refreshment, be it bubbles or presse. The demonstration will start at 6.30pm with our lovely model Holly, Hayley will then do a Q&A so you can get as much out of the evening as possible and then you are free to chat with fellow brides to be, get to share where each of you are in your bridal journey, swap tips and stories and all being well enjoy a relaxed evening socialising. Hope to be finished by 9pm.

Oh and I nearly forgot, each and every bride that attends will receive a luxe goody bag and full product list with some very handy discount codes. I love a goody bag!

Lavender & Jude opening in Southwold

In a little under 5 weeks I shall be embarking on a new chapter for Lavender & Jude. EEEK!!!!

I’m opening s beautiful new bridal shop in Southwold, the iconic Suffolk seaside town. This will be Southwold’s first bridal store and I keep pinching myself that I’m able to do this. The plan is to open on September 1st, perfect timing for brides-to-be to order their wedding dresses from Summer 2024 onwards.

Designers will include Wendy Makin from Australia, Mikaella and Paloma Blanca from Canada, Spanish designs from LunaNovias, Richard Designs from the UK as well as my own-label gowns. Prices start at £1200.

Opening hours will be Wednesday mornings and all-day Thursday, Friday & Saturday. Book your appointment via the website. Altenatively you can message me, give me a call on the mobile or simply pop in!

The Bungay store will remain open until end of July 2024, specialising in ready-to-wear, sample and pre-loved wedding gowns. Open by appointment only on Sunday, Monday and weekday evenings.

The Southwold store will also host a monthly social event, bringing brides-to-be together to chat and meet experts in the bridal world. The ticketed events will be held in-store, for a limited number of brides on a weekday evening. You’ll be able to book through the website and a full calender will be online soon. If all goes well, this will include beauty experts, skin care specialists, hair-stylists, florists, wedding planners, wellbeing and also advice with the financial side of things (like uncovering the mystery of wedding insurance!). I feel so incredibly lucky to be able to do this, especially after the testing last few years. It’s time for some shared stories and laughter, a little learning with some happy times thrown in. To create a new community online and in-store.

So in a nutshell Lavender & Jude, Southwold will be so much more than a bridal store.
